Located just 10 minutes away from Country Hills Volkswagen is Abe’s Modern Diner. Abe’s is a cozy, casual and modern diner established in 2015. It is located on the East side of Airdrie at the Kingsview Market and is known as a “little gem” in Airdrie. It is locally-owned by a family that is passionate about food and service. Your Abe’s experience will feel and taste good, like a home away from home. Prepare yourself to feel comfortable from the inside out.
Let’s hear from one of the owners, Aliser, about her small business journey with her partner, Luis. “We have been living in the wonderful community of Airdrie since 2013 with our 2 children and our dog Mika. Abe’s has been established since March 2015 but we took over in July of 2018.
Before coming to Canada, Luis and I lived at the Riviera Maya (the place we met and fell in love), we both worked at the Fairmont in Mexico and Luis was offered the opportunity to transfer to the Fairmont in Lake Louise. We will forever be grateful with this brand of hotels because it brought us together and it brought us here.
I am in charge of our social media and also work at the restaurant a few days a week. You can find Luis at the restaurant almost every single moment. He is the Chef, manager, and host of your Abe’s experience but we also have a magical team that we are so grateful for. The items you find in our menu are a mix of the original menu, the menu the 2nd owners created, and ours.
The opportunity to acquire Abe’s came as a consequence of me interviewing the owners at that time with the purpose of promoting local businesses. We are fierce Airdrie business supporters and believe in the power of coming together and kindness.
